Our Stop The Hate program uses trained actors to lead classroom-based activities and special role play exercises which enable young people to recognize, reflect on, and regulate their own emotions and behavior.

Our method teaches students six core skills of positive social/emotional behavior: focus, engagement, reflection, self-management, self-discipline and self-awareness. It is widely documented that social-emotional education has a strong impact on positive growth and academic achievement.

Objectives:

•Create awareness for bullying, addiction, sexual activity, mental health, abuse, gun violence, and depression

•Build self confidence in students dealing with self-esteem issues

•Students will create a 60-minute performance using the facts given by their mentors and the dialogue from their journals

•Students will become more aware of the effects and impact of their life choices

•Parents are given the opportunity to listen and learn about the issues teens face

•Encourage young people to use their talents to inspire and uplift each other.
