Eustacia Foster - Vocal Coach

Out of Houston, Texas, Jazz vocalist, Eustacia Foster, moved to New York in 1999 to pursue her career in music. With her classically trained voice, she combines Blues and Jazz to present a unique sound to music lovers.

Eustacia studied music formally in both classical and jazz music conservatories, graduating from Texas Southern University and the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.

Under the tutelage of jazz legends like Reggie Workman, Charles Tolliver and Junior Mance, Eustacia excelled in small ensembles and Big Bands. She continues to perform with various bands in addition to her own group.Eustacia’s performances outside of the classroom includes appearances in several clubs and Jam sessions including Jazz at Lincoln Center’s After Hours, Cleopatra’s Needle, and several others in and around New York City. She performed with Reggie Workman’s Soundscapes Ensemble, Charles Tolliver’s Big Band, Junior Mance’s Blues ensemble at Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola and with the Blues Band Hard Bargain. In October of 2013, she went on tour with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with the Abyssinian Mass Choir Ensemble, conducted by Damien Sneed. Additionally, she has performed as a leader and vocalist in New York, at venues and restaurants.Performing with her own group, a typical set might include a combination of the blues, arias and jazz standards. She has the ability to move in and out of different musical styles because of her pristine voice. However, she maintains the integrity of each style with her down-to- earth delivery of the music.

Her primary influences include vocalists like Kathleen Battle, Sarah Vaughan, Ernestine Anderson, Ella Fitzgerald and Rachelle Ferrell.Currently, Eustacia is working to become a better composer and pianist. “I want to be able to sing any genre without compromising my technique,” says Eustacia. Becoming more and more unique is the primary goal of the singer whether she’s performing in a show like Dream Girls or whether she is in a small intimate jazz club.

If we provide the space for lessons we generally use pearl studios on 34th street and 7th ave. We can come to you or a space of your choosing as well.
